Could you buy a gift card through $300 gift card through delta to active the $60 credit back?

Gift cards are not explicitly excluded as they were in the past. Even back when they were listed as an exclusion, they seemed to still trigger the credit according to some people. I am not saying that it is definitely going to work, but there is a good chance that it will.

So far, it always worked for me.

If I buy the delta gc with my platinum for $300, will I get the $200 airline credit? Or is it more successful when I buy gcs in smaller denominations?

I read it's best to buy Delta GCs in $50 increments for that

First, make sure Delta is your chosen airline for the Platinum $200 travel credit. The recommended denomination is $50. You can do it all in a single transaction (so 6 x $50 for a total of $300). I did 4 x $50 to utilize my year's credit and I did not have an issue getting the credit.

Also make sure you do it from the Delta website, not the mobile app. The mobile app goes thru some third party (Cardstar I think), and will not trigger the credit if this is the case.
