My thoughts exactly. Its still a sound bar. If you want to drop this kind of money go for 5.1 unless for some reason reason you really need to have a sound bar.

The sound on last years model the hw-k950 is great when something plays in ATMOS. Otherwise there was a ton of issues and missed features. I see the N950 is having issues in the forums as well. I wouldn't buy a future sound bar based on how last years model performed and the support we owners were given.

As a picky owner of the previous flagship, the HW-K950, I can say without a doubt Samsung's highest end soundbar setups sound absolutely amazing and definitely perform better than any real receiver setups in the same ballpark price. That said, my HW-K950 is so f'n buggy and overridden with the most unacceptable operational issues that come and go as they push out awful firmware updates. I have absolutely zero faith in Samsung ever ironing out all the bugs considinering how long it has been and the most recent firmware has my soundbar randomly requiring me to turn off power to it and the Samsung TV it's being driven by (via ARC). It's such a shame really, cause when the system works, it's surprisingly impressive, however it's so buggy and unreliable it makes the whole experience feel like a bad joke.

depends on your space requirements. i'd rather get a an 9.1.2 enhanced speaker setup for total atmos immersion, especially when you are spending this much cash.

I have the K950 as well and feel the same way. When it works properly man does it sound good, but I have issues where the rears and the sub will randomly disconnect while watching a movie pulling you out of the experience. Yeah it reconnects but it takes about 10 seconds and it's just frustrating and annoying. Been thinking about selling mine and just going to a proper A/V receiver set up

I spent less than that on my entire 5.1 system with a 700W subwoofer. I guess it doesn't have atmos, but you can do a lot with a thousand dollars...

Just returned mine. Lost connection with subwoofer and rear speakers are practically silent. Waste of money
