Great deal on this, but be warned — the app can be extremely buggy, at least on Amazon Fire tablets which is what I use with my STEM nonprofit. I encountered so many save issues and UI issues with these that I eventually stopped using them altogether. Also tried contacting support by email several times and never received a response. Heard similar stories from others and that they moved the bulk of their efforts to the Star Wars version that came out after this one. Not too much of a gamble at $17, but I wanted to pass my experience along to others looking to purchase.

If it's all the same to you, get it on Walmart so Amazon can get a bit of competition. Amazon needs competition.

Hit or miss. Extremely fun for younger kids. My 14 year old sister got bored pretty quick.

Son had this specifically on his Christmas list. Best price I've seen on it. Thanks OP

My 8 year old had a bit of fun with this for a while. Seems like a good deal at this price.

You can play a "lite" version without the pixel board. (You build a pattern to "unlock" the full version of the game.) That way you can try it out ahead of time to see if it will be a good fit.

My kids rarely used the board and usually opted for the digital editor. With 90% of the time was making characters. Definitely good way to kill a rainy weekend at this price.

My son is always telling me how he wants to build a game. Let's see how this handles.

From personal experience, we bought this for my 7 y.o. son who enjoyed it for a few hours. He may be a bit young to maintain interest for longer (he may at one point return to it in the future when he's a little older).

I will say, however, he quickly learned he could do everything digitally (and quicker) without using the board and bloxels at all.

Also, there aren't enough bloxels here anyway to create a fully realized scene / level. So the dilemma here is to buy more bloxels to fix that problem, but to also wonder if they're going to be used at all anyway.

Shipping is only free on purchases of $35+. I personally am always taken aback by the sheer ineptitude of Walmart employees; to the point where I avoid it at all costs these days. I just had an umbrella shipped to the store there, went to pick it up and in the sealed box was something completely different. So very annoying. I agree Amazon needs competition, but for better or worse I'm not gonna be helping.

People were saying for years that Walmart needed competition. Enter Amazon. I don't know that one is better or worse than the other.

Almost all apps are buggy on Amazon tablet, that's why there under $40, great for a car tablet that's about it

My target had it for $5. If we get a few hours of enjoyment, then its not bad. donate when we are done.
