While the price is reasonable (nearly $1.96 is what Walmart charges for a lot of kid's movies on BF) for a DVD, I've never heard of this movie and it's listed as 1.33:1 which could be pan & scan rather than open matte. I couldn't find any reviews on Google nor DVD-Basen which speaks to the popularity of this title.

Even if the movie were good, I have a revulsion to pan & scan and wouldn't want to blind buy it without knowing. I can take SD resolution, but no pan & scan or cropping.
I can't speak to the quality of this dvd, but I did enjoy the movie as a kid despite the low rating from Rotten Tomatoes. Add in the $1 Digital Credit for No Rush Shipping and it's a no brainer for me. Plus it's Disney, who doesn't like Disney?

Thanks OP!

I enjoyed this movie when I was young as well. I'll have to watch it again sometime to see if it's how I remember it.

Don't do it. I did that with Teen Wolf. It will ruin it for you.

Funny, because back when the book was published it pushed an anti-slavery agenda.

Thanks! Great stocking stuffer for my son who read Tom Sawyer this year in school. I let him watch the old Tom Sawyer movie with Jodie Foster. He was a bit disappointed. Maybe this one will be better.

I watched the first Teen Wolf because I was a fan of Michael J. Fox. It was dumb but MJF makes it passable. Nobody can walk backwards as well as he can in TW and the BTTF movies.

It's probably hoping for too much for anyone who owns or has watched this 1.33:1 ratio Tom and Huck DVD to tell us whether it's open matte or cropped/pan & scan? If it's open matte, I could live with it.
