Add speed in the title, it would be useful.
GeiL is 3000Mhz set, G.Skill is 2666

Still looking for a single 8GB RAM. Most deals provide a pair.

Buy it and sell the extra DIMM on Craigslist

It's just branding/advertising. It works in Intel machines as well.

This AMD ram may have timings and sub-timings that will work out of the box well for AMD systems as well as Intel, but it's hard to know for sure. I think most memory has timings that are really optimized for Intel, so if you try to use it on an AMD system and just enable XMP you will likely have issues, at least if it's 3000 or faster ram. For that type of ram it's better to do some research and set timings manually which is a pain. Either that or you can enable XMP and then just manually select a lower speed, that usually does the trick too. I have some 3000 G.Skill that won't run if I just enable XMP but if I enable XMP and drop the speed to 2666 it will be stable as a rock.
If this was designed to work well for AMD that could save a lot of trial and error. Of course it's hard to really say. As stated already that could be just mostly marketing.

Last PC update was 5 years ago, planning on a new build this month. Leaning towards Ryzen 2700x, is this the memory deal to bite on?

Don't take me too seriously, but I think the idea is that it'll run at advertised speed on an AMD system. Something you don't get with most ram since it's not b-die or as compatible. So seems hot?

if you waited 5 years I would suggest to wait until Zen2 (I think Spring 2019). Also all forecasts point to decent RAM and SSD price drops next year. Looks like summer 2019 should be perfect for building new systems. At least I am waiting Smilie.

If you must have new PC right now - both choices look good enough (I would also get 2700x and 3000 ram)

The 32gb meets 2018 Mac Mini specs. Any reason to think they wouldn't work (or fit)?
