People who complain about Blink battery life and make statements like the one above aren't using the cameras as designed. These are NOT 24/7 security cameras, and these are not cameras where you're going to record even an hour of video every day. These cameras are designed to capture small video clips when triggered by a motion nearby. To make battery life last, you only arm these cameras at select times and you don't regularly place them in high-traffic areas while armed. You also need to make sure they have strong connectivity to WiFi and the sync module as well. It really is that simple. If you're doing this and still have battery issues, you have bad batteries or a bad camera.

Source: Me. I have 20 of these cameras and have several which are well over 2 years old which have only recently needed battery replacements, I've never had cameras batteries fail before the 18 month mark except when I was experimenting with using rechargeable batteries - those WILL die fast. You must use lithium batteries.

On the other hand, while I generally think the cameras are decent, I will warn everyone here that Blink hasn't released a new product in nearly 2 years. The doorbell was cancelled - err, excuse me - "pulled in order to be 'evolved'." The security system is MIA. The LTE sync module is MIA. The panic alarm/siren was discontinued. Meaningful software updates are rare. Integration with other systems can only be accomplished with garbage IFTTT. Before Amazon purchased Blink, it was understandable given their small size. Since Amazon has purchased Blink, however, things have been much worse IMO. Purchasing both Blink and Ring within weeks made no sense but I suspect what really happened was that Amazon wanted Ring, Ring balked, and when Amazon then purchased Blink, Ring had a quick change of heart knowing what Amazon could do to them as a competitor. So now, Blink is left milking products which have been out for nearly 2 years with no meaningful products on the horizon.

What you would want to do is create an additional "system" within your account. This way you'd simply tap on the "system" name at the top center of the app screen and then choose the set of cameras you wish to access from the drop down menu. All video clips go to the same "folder" in upper right corner, so you can access recorded video clips from all "systems" regardless of which one you're currently looking at.

I've had the blink system for years now and it's been great for the most part. Super easy to setup and super convenient. Batteries last a surprisingly long time. Video quality is just ok, but that didn't really bother me to much. I just wanted some piece of mind. I have one camera facing down my driveway and one aimed at my dogs inside.
For the price (no subscription and free cloud storage) , it's a great product.

Strange the indoor camera system is $69 while the add on indoor camera only is $71 making it more expensive. Wonder if I should buy the system and use it as a backup if my current "hub" goes out

Even worse for the XT. $78 for the full set up and $95 for add on.

I've been waiting for camera deals and have been looking at this system for its convenience factor. I can't seem to go find quality video sample reviews. All these YouTube reviews are setting up the system and talking about it. I want to see actual video samples especially of nighttime and low light conditions. Can anyone who has the blink XT system speak on that?

They did this on prime day too. Makes no sense. prime day was cheaper also than these deals. The extra hub is worth it. You can create two camera systems and turn one on/off while other stays on/off, etc. (think outdoor only hub, indoor only hub, or upstairs versus downstairs, etc).

Bought XT outdoor 3 camera system couple of weeks back- Installation is easy. So far the system is performing OK. Got couple of false alerts. Day time video quality is good but Night time video is very bad. Still thinking to keep or return it .

How do you run 2 different hubs at once on the app?

I had purchased xt last year. For me i live on the second floor and i had set up the camera at the main entrance 1 floor down. For some reason even though i had 2 bars of wifi, it says its not strong enough and would not connect to see live feed. I had issues with video recordings also. I set the video to 55 seconds and i would randonly get anywhere from 5 seconds to 50 even though you can see someone there moving. I felt the motion detection was also very slow. I could see someone walk near the end of the angle when it started the video. I ended up returning it. I originally had a unit that was defective, they replaced it with a refurbished camera even though i had just ordered it from amazon.
