Two years ago this site had a decent way of searching black friday ads and looking at deals. This year it's terrible, farking christ I just want to search for tires.

Hi, may I ask which version of the site you are using? Classic or Redesign? Some folks have a preference when looking for deals.

Search on mobile is terrible. No spreadsheet. I get that it drives traffic away from the site but I can't find a thing.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always hated mobile sites. SlickDeals in Classic is the way to go!

Redesign currently. I'm glad you guys aggregate the ads and pull each ad off the inserts, but man I am just having a tough time searching the actual "deals" to see what is good and what's bad.

hi,

sorry that it's not intuitive but fyi all of the bf adscan threads are in the "black friday deals" forum, so the best way to search them is to restrict your search to just that forum in the search options.

for those on mobile devices, you'll need to switch to the desktop version of the site. hopefully that is a feature they'll be able to integrate into the app for next year.

Thank you! The black Friday app last year was pretty helpful. I was hoping that'd make a comeback

I noticed if you go into an ad scan section in the sd store adscan thingie, you cant search for a product. So if you are going to best buy, you have to look through the whole damn thing to find what you want to make a list of what you can pick up while you're there, whn you only care about certian items. Totally lame.

And then when you are at the bottom of a page, and go to the next one, you're at the bottom of that one, you need to scroll to the top yourself on each page, then scan down.

This whole thing is just an ill concieved money grab by sd. If it was designed better I wouldnt mind, but its terrible.

As a software engineer this UX is baffling or I am doing something wrong. If I want only Black Friday Deals, each time I deselect a category the page refereshes and I need to scroll all the way to the categories section again to deselect all the others.
Is this bug tracked anywhere? Are you planning on fixing it?

you're welcome. this is the second year that the bf content has been integrated in the main app. i know there was an update on android in the last few days that made it more immersive...i imagine ios is similar but either way make sure you are using the latest version of the app....that should help Smilie

as noted by emceep in this thread the easiest way to search just one forum is to navigate there and then use "search this forum", which i know can be challenging since that one does not appear on the forum list.

this link will search the bf forum for deals posted in the last 3 months (so as to exclude ones that were created last year): https://slickdeals.net/newsearch.php?searchin=all&daysprune=90&forumchoice%5B%5D=44&r=1

i'm a moderator not a dev, and am not pivvy to what may be on the roadmap going forward but it would be good to post this feedback in SIS: https://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5
