Makita Impact GOLD Driver Bit and Socket Set (18-Piece)
Includes
1/4 in, 5/16 in, 3/8 in, and 7/16 in. sockets
(6) #2 Phillips bits
(3) square drive nuts
(3) star drive bits
Magnetic torsion bit holder

Looks to be a great price on a fairly complete small impact set.

There were a lot of nice deals on power tools recently . I scored one of them and started searching for drive bits . Found few front page deals for Milwaukee , Dewalt and Ryobi branded driver bits and all them have mixed reviews about the quality . But all those threads all recommending this Makita driver bit which available is online a month back but only for very short duration. Thought of posting as it is available again so that it's helpful for others like me in the market for bits.

I bought the bit holder itself from Amazon for $4 in 2015. It's nice.

Uh....yeah, thanks.
I was just putting that out as a data point of how much the bit holder cost alone (and when).

Where's the actual "deal" here? I went to Home Depot and it's not even on sale.

I do quite a bit of work on cars and fixing/taking apart random stuff, and I never see square bits (like from the bottom 2 rows of this set: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makit...nUtQ3EPQE0).

Where are these used?

Wood screws and sheetrock screws. They are much better than phillips but not quite as good as torx/star. https://www.homedepot.com/b/Hardw...,2807,2828

Canada. They are also called Robertson's. There's a fair amount of shipping in my line of work. I see torx and square regularly. Some deck screws in the US will also have square drive or torx.

I also find that square drive works better than phillips for the combination-head screws that come with the triple grip wall anchors.

Torx > square > phillips
