LOL figured it out (probably not the first). Market cheap POS toys for 3-5$ so that when the kids come to the store with mom and dad, it's worth the 3-5$ to shut them up in the store than to argue about not getting something. The kids come home, unwrap the ball, play with the POS toy for 5 minutes, and leave the parts lying around the house for you to step on in the middle of the night. Lego level of foot pain. Plague. on. my. house.

My daughter has been begging me for these but I will not pay $10 for this stuff. I just bought 8 for the same price as 4. Thanks

Why are these popular? My kids must not be in the know as they haven't asked for these yet

Heh, mine seem to ask only for lego, American Girl, and Calico Critters, all of which hardly go on sale.. while quality toys, they're e expensive to me and my pockets. Have to always hunt for clearance legos at Walmart or catch good deals on sell/buy apps

+1. My girl is the oldest, and then 3 boys after her - and she talks about them so much my boys say they want them now. And they would probably end up being flushed down my toilet if history repeats itself

Is there any good equivalent for a boy? I think my son wants something to unwrap like this but all of the boy blind bags seem to be just unwrapping a figure versus these with all of the little parts.

A deal on these is nice, but still such a waste of money. They're basically tiny dolls like you would get out of a 50 cent vending machine. My daughter loves opening them, but then promptly loses interest and never looks at them again.
