Couldn't find it for cheaper anywhere else, seemed like a pretty decent deal to me. They have other refurb models too.

Oh yeah. The fact that it's a coffee machine probably would have been good to put in there haha.

Thank you very much! Had a deal alert for this for a few months. Only 1 year warranty vs the standard 5, but a far better price! Can't wait to use it for the first time.

Note that from an American pov this is really an 8-cup coffee maker, not a 10-cup. It counts four ounces to a cup, not six like American machines. A US 10-cup machine makes 50+ ounces, while this makes 40.

It does make good coffee very quickly, but it's annoying that it's labeled misleadingly in this country.

Thanks for the correction iamchris

Technivorm uses a 4 oz measurement for a cup of coffee since it's a European company. Note that this makes 40 oz, not 50.

They have both styles of the insulated carafe for the same price - I'd get that instead

Anyone know why this machine costs so much more compared with a normal 10 cup coffee maker?

You can get a brand new one from bedbathandbeyound, $299-20% coupon making around $240. Still a good deal here.

These are more expensive due to precise temperature control.

Because it brews coffee at the proper temperature and you get far better tasting product. Now, if you prefer ground or buy previously ground grocery store coffee, don't bother with this. This, the Bonavita and the high end Oxo are pretty much the only drip coffee makers worth buying if you love coffee and buy and grind high quality whole bean yourself. I posted more in a recent Mr. Coffee thread as I used to be a skeptic.

Does this machine really make a good coffee? I had a bonavita which i returned because the coffee was barely warm. Now i have a ninja coffee bar which im starting to hate and looking for something that will make me a good coffee... Do i ask for that much? Lol i tried to do some research online about the machines but pretty much everywhere the same list of coffee makers come up.

Your beans could be the issue, if you don't have one try using a burr grinder and griding immediately before brewing.

I use the baratza encore burr grinder.
