Glad this deal is back. I overheard my girlfriend saying she wanted a ring for Christmas, so this is great timing.

I beg to differ. I contacted Ring as I got this Costco deal a month ago. CSR stated the my newly purchased alarm system would be added to doorbell for the remainder of the term for full alarm monitoring.

If you jump on the ring alarm 8 PC kit on Amazon and do the 10$ a month monitored service, it'll include all your cameras as well

Is the one year video recording for all cameras a house has or just for the doorbell?

I have ring cameras and am looking at a a ring security system. They have the option to purchase for $100 one year of coverage for the security system and all cameras, including the doorbell. The question is whether or not the service that is included with the doorbell is in effect the $100 plan that covers all devices for 1 year. There have been mixed comments on this and would love to hear from someone who has definitive answers.

Its not the $100 plan. It's the $3 / one camera plan ($30 value).

Thanks. So many people are offering up answers to this, but few have firsthand knowledge, based on the diversity of responses.

Does the 1yr cloud recording service comes in a coupon? I want to switch from the doorbell 1 to the 2 but I already paid the $30, want to use it for next year..

The problem I have with these is that you end up paying for the recording instead of just having it recycle on a microSD card for free, and because its on the cloud and you don't own the footage it can and has been used against the owners.

For example, there was a home owner that was recently robbed twice in a row, and thought that he found the burglar casing his house again. His wife screamed at him that she thought it was the burglar again, he ran up with a shotgun and fired a warning shot into the air. Random dude, who may not have even been the burglar, called the cops and they used his own camera against him and he's in jail.

And even if you're not worried about that, there's the concern with all your video being on the cloud and eventually someone is going to hack that and gain access to it all. More secure stored locally on the device or on your NAS IMO.

No, it activates once you set things up. And I also asked about a extending to a second year based on subsequent purchase...no dice. The calendar starts with the initial set up.

Just picked one up yesterday. Great deal. Wished I could get an echo instead of the chime.

I just purchased the Ring 8 pc security system from Amazon. Does anyone know if I purchase this Costco deal, will the 1 year included in it cover the alarm monitoring?
