Ivanka Trump used personal account for emails about government business

https://www.cnn.com/2018/11/19/po...index.html

Ivanka Trump last year used a personal email account to discuss or relay official White House business, according to emails released by a nonpartisan watchdog group.

The Washington Post reported Monday the White House conducted an investigation into Trump's email usage and that she used her personal email address for much of 2017.

According to emails released by the watchdog group, American Oversight, Trump used her personal account to email Cabinet officials, White House aides and assistants. The Presidential Records Act requires all official White House communications and records be preserved.

"But you have to ask yourself how many times does one have to wake up the next day, look at what they've posted the night before, and repeatedly face shame and regret before not doing *that* anymore? LMAO" --BLUEKNOB, 9:36 pm Dec 12, 2017 on the eve of Alabama special election with Roy Moore as a candidate

"I think this is the beginning of the end for her and her presidential aspirations. With her out of the way and no other viable Democrat contender, conservatives should have an easy run next year."--BLUEKNOB, July 2015

"Biden an Warren take center stage... and unfortunately, probabely the election unless Trump makes some major changes in the near future. There's a lot to like about the guy but he's making it really tough on the general electorate to warm up to him."--BLUEKNOB, June 2016

Peter Mirijanian, the spokesperson for Lowell and ethics counsel for Ivanka Trump, said in a statement, "Like most people, before entering into government service, Ms. Trump used a private email. When she entered the government, she was given a government email account for official use. While transitioning into government, until the White House provided her the same guidance they had to others who started before she did, Ms. Trump sometimes used her private account, almost always for logistics and scheduling concerning her family."
Some advisers to President Trump were alarmed when they heard this news, the Post reports, because of the similarities to Clinton's email use. Trump has called Clinton "Crooked Hillary" for using a personal email account when she was secretary of state.
Mirijanian sought to draw a specific contrast between Ivanka Trump's personal email usage and Clinton's, by noting that she did not have the server set up in her home or office.
"To address misinformation being peddled about Ms. Trump's personal email, she did not create a private server in her house or office, there was never classified information transmitted, the account was never transferred or housed at Trump Organization, no emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules," Mirijanian's statement continues.

On 12-31-2017, 29 year old Deputy Zackari Parrish of the Douglas County, Colorado Sheriff's Office was killed in the line of duty and four other deputies were wounded. Deputy Parrish leaves behind a wife and two very young children. On that date, The Podium poster rrc06 created a post attempting to make a disgusting, despicable and sick joke out of the tragedy and misfortune of these who have been killed and injured while doing their jobs serving their communities, for his own political purposes.
Unfortunately and sadly, rrc06 has now made that disgusting post his signature. His response to complaints was "Your crocodile tears are really touching."
RIP Deputy Zackari Parrish, and speedy recoveries Deputies Mike Doyle, Taylor Davis, Jeffrey Pelle, and Castle Rock police officer Tom O'Donnell. You truly were and are the "good guys with a gun".

Ivanka Trump's lawyer slams 'misinformation being peddled' after report that she used private ... [foxnews.com]
The newspaper's story, which cites people familiar with the records who reviewed them amid a public records lawsuit, contains no indication that any of Trump's emails contained classified or sensitive government information. Trump's husband, Jared Kushner, also had a private email account on the domain "ijkfamily.com," according to the report.

In a statement to Fox News, Peter Mirijanian, the spokesperson for Trump's ethics lawyer Abbe Lowell, dismissed any comparisons to the Hillary Clinton email scandal that engulfed the 2016 presidential campaign.

"To address misinformation being peddled about Ms. Trump's personal email, she did not create a private server in her house or office, there was never classified information transmitted, the account was never transferred or housed at Trump Organization, no emails were ever deleted, and the emails have been retained in the official account in conformity with records preservation laws and rules," Mirijanian said.

He added: "When concerns were raised in the press 14 months ago, Ms. Trump reviewed and verified her email use with White House Counsel and explained the issue to congressional leaders."
............

An FBI probe found that, contrary to Clinton's repeated assertions, the former secretary of state had in fact sent classified materials using a private server she established to handle virtually all of her government business.

Despite the distinctions between Clinton's email practices and Trump's, the Post reported late Monday that administration officials were "alarmed." The paper quoted Austin Evers, the executive director of a liberal advocacy group, accusing the White House of "obvious hypocrisy."
.............

The Post acknowledged later in its story that Trump's actions "could have" broken that law, after initially citing officials as saying that she had in fact violated federal rules.

Mirijanian explained that Trump used her personal account "almost always" for logistics matters, as opposed to more sensitive information that could implicate other federal laws.

"Like most people, before entering into government service, Ms. Trump used a private email," he said. "When she entered the government, she was given a government email account for official use. White House officials have been aware since shortly after the beginning of the administration that Trump and Kushner had used private email accounts.

"The White House instructs staff to fully comply with the Presidential Records Act, and briefed staff on the need to preserve records," a senior official told Fox News late last year.

Kushner used personal email in his first few months of the administration, Lowell confirmed to Fox News at the time. He said the emails usually involved news articles and political commentary. Lowell also said any non-personal emails were forwarded to Kushner's official account and "all have been preserved in any event."

Does it matter if the personal email was on a private server or not? Would you feel safer if her personal emails are running on a server in Russia?

We won't know if any classified information were transmitted until we do a thorough investigation. We'll need all Invanka's emails released.

You sound very concerned about a thorough investigation.

So you think helLIARy should be investigated thoroughly, and charged and prosecuted if it has been determined that the law has been broken?

Should helLIARy be locked up?

Pretty sure I mentioned over a dozen times.

Benghazi was a witch hunt. The emails were a real issue. They already investigated Clinton about it.

An even bigger security issue is Donald Trump using personal cellphones.

Sounds like you should support Ivanka Trump "should be investigated thoroughly, and charged and prosecuted if it has been determined that the law has been broken".

The question is whether Ivanka Trump used a personal email account for government business.

Whether her personal email account was on a private server or on a public server in China or Russia is not relevant.

In fact, you can say a private server is more secure since many public email servers are hosted all around the world.

I don't believe Ivanka Trump's or her lawyers word. Just as I wouldn't trust Hillary Clinton's word.

We need a thorough investigation. In fact, make it a 2 year investigation like Clinton's emails.

Huge difference between helLIARy's situation and Ivanka's. HelLIARy could not make the above statements - she scrubbed her server and deleted many emails.

The statements above should be easily provable. Why don't you call the AG and see if he'll authorize an investigation.

You're going to have to find something else for your "resistance" witch hunt, though because this one is not going to be the endless "investigation" that you and cnn want it to be.

Guess Trumps don't lie. LMAO

Again. All of Invanka Trump's emails on her personal email account must be released and a thorough investigation is needed.

It's funny it took years from CHC's private server to make the news, but now, under apparently a much more transparent administration, this stuff gets blown out of proportion much, much sooner.

Is she even collecting a paycheck from the Federal Government?
