PALMS Las Vegas Cyber Week deal, discount on rooms and NO RESORT FEE. Saves at least $45 a night!

Just called Palms to inquire about Cyber Week deals. Had to call as the website is a disaster.
Cyber week promotion WAIVES the $45 per night resort fee and gives a varying discount depending on dates. Book by Monday and stay though August 2019.
I only needed dates in January, so YMMV.

And the website blows. Start there and call. FWIW, I was able to book a different room class than those advertised for less money (Ivory tower ROH).

Good luck! Happy Thanksgiving!

I've been considering an off-strip stay one of these days, but I got a great offer this morning for Golden Gate, where they slashed prices for Sunday-Thursday stays significantly - less than I was paying three years ago, even though they upped their resort fee $10/night since then. If I can the get the GG suite for $70 out the door, that's an automatic for me.

Palms puts you in hailing distance of Rio, Gold Coast and Orleans (sort of). There are shuttles to the strip too, and you can also take the RTC for very little money. A 24 hr pass is like $5.

Waiving the resort fee is an interesting promo. I've never seen that before. I think the reason you don't see it is that hotels don't want to perpetuate even the idea that it's waivable under any circumstances.

No, Thank YOU Serra! YOU and SD help me save all year long, I am happy to give back.
Now all I need is a sale to get me back from Europe in July! (already getting there, just need flight back!)

that's an idea. let me move this deal to hot deals forum for a little bit. the more publicity this generates, the more often waiving resort fee will happen laugh out loud

I think that the Palms rep is going to have some explaining to do at the next resort owners' meeting. That kind of promo changes people's expectations, and the resort fee scam, er, model, is something the economics of Las Vegas have come to depend on, especially now that people have largely stopped complaining about it. Waiving this fee is a very surprising promo to get people in the door.

The Golden Gate prices I mentioned - they just slashed the base room rate, the part they share with the OTA; they're still getting their $25 resort fee, which they don't share with the OTA. I think that's the way they're supposed to do it.

I would investigate whether this promo is limited to bookings through the hotel or whether its waived if you book through an agent too. If the latter, remember that CheapTickets has a 17% off promo you can use more than once. You can find the deal and the code in the travel forum.

Only available through hotel direct booking. That is OK, no junk fees!

Hmm. I checked Expedia. Expedia charges resort fees but I got exactly the same rate as the Palms special. This is for a executive room. The premier room comes out a little cheaper on the Palms website than Expedia for my dates.
