I feel like this gets repeated so much but people saying this don't even understand the pros and cons. Five Eyes just becomes a buzzword and boogeyman.

Yes Five Eyes may be bad, but you think every other country isn't spying on its own citizens? People think the US is bad just because it's one of the most powerful countries in the world, but even your privacy friendly EU nations have governments that will get their hands on your data when it comes to "national security."
Just because you have a VPN outside of the US doesn't mean the US won't get its hands on your data. Iceland gladly handed data to the FBI regarding Silk Road when asked. Do you think most countries will hesitate when it comes to requests from the US? Only in extreme cases (e.g. Snowden being used as a political token) will governments cover your ass.
If you understand the whole collection of data, US citizens actually have constitutional protection. That's why the massive collection of data has been mainly focused on foreigners or suspected foreigners. If your data is going to a foreign server, you can 100% guarantee it's going to be captured by the NSA. If not, then you at least have a chance it won't be, so talk about setting yourself up as a guarantee for surveillance.

Without a doubt a non-US VPN is better than a US based VPN, but for those in the US who just need to surf safely at a Starbucks, or don't want their ISP snooping on their downloads, PIA works fine, as do many other US based VPNs. What those users care about are speed and reliability, not to route their traffic through Bulgaria with 500ms ping.
While yes, PIA is a US based company, they've already had their "no logs kept" confirmed in US court. Your comment is null. Customers/readers can feel safe and secure using their service.
Windscribe is a waste of time and money.

FYI, this is a US (5 Eyes) based VPN.
Forgive my ignorance, but is that good?

Anyone know if the year(s) starts on the purchase date, or the day you redeem the code?
