They also make a Sega Genesis case which is easily the best case they have made so far, even better than the NES case and includes safe power shutdown/reset button:

This is the NESPi Case PLUS, so it should already have the mods in place for safe shutdown/safe reset. You just need to update the scripts in RetroPie or Recalbox.

Any comments on this? I'm planning on building my first raspberry 3b+ for pihole and this would be a nice case.

I, too, would like to know more about these. I already have a raspberry pi 3 B+ in a standard case. Can I just plug and play or do I need to enter in commands to get this all working?

You don't need to program anything, the power and reset just cut the power. You can follow a guide to solder in a few cheep components to make it do a clean shut down. Quality case, almost as good as the nes classic, but there are issues with low voltage on some of these. I had to return my first one. My second one developed the issue later. I fixed it by soldering in two thicker wires to the power board. I am not great at soldering, but it was a pretty easy job.

My nephew got this on Amazon at least it looks just like it. I installed it for him and it works great plug and play. I love this case because the USB port on the front is located like the real thing. my only wish is that the case was a tiny bit bigger so we could extend the side ports to the back

The ethernet port on the front is an odd placement. Why not route that in through the back?! Now I have to have the lid open all the time with a cord hanging out of the front if I want it hardwired? Dumb.
