Hello fellow SD people.

I was browsing for a new pocket knife and noticed Dick's has a couple of benchmade knives on sale. Benchmade knives rarely go on sale so I thought I'd post this up.

940 Osbourne - $159.98
535-GRY-1 Bugout - $119.98
556 Mini-Griptilian - $79.98

+ a couple of others...

Also, I believe they have the 940-1, with the CF scales for $209.98. It doesn't show up on the search but if you show all knives and list from high to low, you'll see it.

**EDIT** Academy Sports & Outdoors was able to PM and beat by 5% making it a nicer deal. They do have the 940 and the mini grip in stock. The CS actually gave a 20% off code making a mini griptilian ~$72.

These prices aren't that good really plus you have to add tax, also I will never shop at Dick's sporting goods after their anti-2A stance.

LL Bean also carries a small assortment of benchmades and seem to always have a 25% off code. FYI.

How so? My local store still carries a sizeable collection of wide variety of ammunition and long guns.

I know they did drop "black" rifles that became a big topic of contention following certain events in 2012 as I do well remember looking forward to their partnership with Troy Industries and the rifles to be released exclusively with them for them to be dropped...Not that I would have fought to have gotten one from the droves of panic buyers and flippers who bought up anything high cap. or potentially effected by any executive action.

They never stopped carrying semi automatics as a whole or "black rifle" like shotguns (e. g. self defense/ "tactical" models like 590A1, 500 or 870) though hence my confusion as to what you're referring to. Quite frankly, I'm not a bit bothered by their change in marketing and inventory.
Their focusing more on having more hunting/sporting conventional, if a bit old fashioned, long guns when every 2 bit self aggrandizing builder/hobbyist and online store (e. g. Palmetto State though I do have a place in my heart still even with putting up with terrible shipping times) pumping out an absurd number of their own flavor of the AR15 and when the speculator boom demand for paying top dollar for the rifles dropped, the oversaturation of products tanked the market.

It's a relief to walk back to Dick's counter and not just see the exact same stock as the pop up shops have; as a result of them bucking the trend, also, I have been able to walk in and actually find pieces in stock that are bought up in other stores thanks to the high "tactitool"mall ninja traffic. I got a 10/22 takedown , for example, for $100 under MSRP (before tax) from a Dick's, when other stores had none and flippers wanted double... though I don't entirely love all their prices lol

It's the perfect size for most people to EDC. Tough as hell, lock is awesome, and blade steel is decent. Hard to beat at the price. The 940 is one of my favorite knifes. I forgot I have it in my pocket since it's so slim, s30v is so easy to sharpen with the right tools and takes a beating. Flings open. Love that knife.
