Bushnell 1500 Lumen flashlight clearance at Walmart $9.50 - highly YMMV

FYI ... I was at Walmart earlier and saw a Bushnell 1500 Lumen flashlight in a pretty nice gift box packaging. It wasn't marked, so I scanned it and it rang up at $9.50.

From what I can tell, it was a special Black Friday item at Walmart (for $20) and it didn't sell out, so they're clearing out the remainder.

NOTE: This uses 9 x AA batteries, so it's not an economical flashlight for everyday use. However, it is very bright so might be good for occasional use (like one that sits at the back door to light up the yard when you hear something ... or to stick in the car for occasional deer spotting or emergency use, etc.). Might also make a good stocking-stuffer type of gift for random guys or secret Santa around this time of year.

UPDATE: You can also run this flashlight with only 3 AA batteries (only fill one column of the battery pack. It still works fine, but obviously won't run as long as it will with all 9 batteries). Thanks to Proskatersf90 for the tip.

I don't know how widespread the deal is and couldn't pull it up on Brickseek. I only know that there were 8 or 10 on the shelf at the store I went to (in the general merchandise clearance aisle)

UPDATE: Thanks to sea3n1 for posting the Bickseek link. This appears to be highly YMMV ... a number of stores show them in stock near me, but only one shows the $9.50 price (32707 zip) ... might spread to more later, as these clearance things seem to do

I wonder if they'll have the gift pack again that includes one of these flashlights and a fifth of Old Bushmill's? ("Two Bushes, one tree" promotion). That was hot. I imagine a lot of people have flashlights left over from that.

$20 here in DFW at the moment.

Sam's Club routinely has these as rebranded Member's Marks that can get that low for those folks who have membership. I bought one of the rechargeable versions for $15 earlier this year and regret not buying more of them.

Seriously, 9 AA batteries? Not sure I'd want to deal with that. Lord forbid it doesn't drain from the batteries equally and then you have to test 9 batteries to see which ones may still be good. Seems kind of silly not to just have used bigger batteries.

I agree ... 3 C or D cells wouldn't be bad, but 9 AA is pretty crazy. On the bright side, Harbor freight often does the free 20-packs of AA batteries, so might be OK for someone only looking for rare emergency use and feeds it free batteries now and then.

$20 all around me. But high inventory counts. Stores might mark them down eventually. Some are more stubborn than others.

Not a good idea. Carbon zinc batteries like that leak very badly
