These need to be washed by hand, I put the steak knives in the dishwasher and they rusted along the serrated part at bottom of knife 🔪

Edit: Lol 😁 from the prior comments I am a low quality, super tight citizen who is dirt poor.

Better yet don't ever buy a set!! Waste money knives that most people will never use. Buy a good chefs knife (victronox is a great value for a great knife, rated high by Cook's illustrated every time they review knives. I got it when it went for 25 on Amazon), a cheap pairing knife for small work, and a cheap serrated bread knife...for bread. Eventually pick up a honing steel to keep the edge aligned (Goodwill and thrifts usually have these for dirt cheap because people have no idea what they're for and don't use them). Don't buy this knife set, it's crappy, buy the single knives when you have the cash, and they'll last and cut muchhhh better.

the only time i could justify a set like this, would be if the person is getting their first apartment, they are in a bind, and money is super tight

otherwise yeah, a good knife set goes a long long way

Yes blades with carbon cannot be put in the dishwasher. They should be cleaned by hand and immediately dried with a towel

Can you please suggest a knife set that is good for daily use that won't break the bank?

All steels have carbon. Knives should be washed by hand, though because detergents cause corrosion and surface damage.

This set is trash. Get one good chef's knife.

Amazon Basics Premium 18pc is very solid set for the price. I am still deadly afraid for my fingers every time I use them lol. I bought a $160 Japanese knife set for my brother 6 years ago that don't hold up to these.

https://www.amazon.com/d/Knife-Bl...B00R3Z3ZF2

I bought this set for $50, has gone as low as $36ish in the past. Well worth at current $55 TBH
