People also say that the earth is flat, vaccines cause autism, and birds aren't real. The actual truth is taht there might be a dewalt tool here and there that competes or maybe even surpasses it's Milwaukee counterpart, but those are the outliers. Overall, as a system, from my own research, Milwaukee seems to be better.

Yeah these are Gen 2. You could tell by the drivers model number. 2897 instead of 2997. I read that the Gen 2 are a little bit smaller, a little more power, and the light is mounted by the battery or something

This is Gen II right? Is the gen III worth the extra $150 or worth finding on eBay cheap?

Gen 2 will do pretty much anything you need. Some people complain about the chuck on the gen 2 drill. The Gen 3 just look awesome, drill is an inch shorter and so is impact. The impact is shorter than the Gen 2 M12 impact.
Is Gen 3 worth $150 more, I don't think so. You could always wait for a decent sale on Gen 3, proably a couple more months.

This is Gen III. This is the best price you are going to see for a long time. I own this set. I couldn't wait to purchase, while waiting for deals, do to work schedule. Got from ACME. I would recommend this set. Right now. Great deal. When you buy these higher priced Milwaukee tools, you get no hassle warranty service. They can trace it through your authorized reseller Home Depot. I watched ebay listings, but the prices were only a few buck lower. Not worth the warranty repair risk. Other smaller items I buy through ebay or whoever is lowest on tools or batteries (as long as they have a 99.7% rating and at least 2,000 reviews).
This is not gen 3 it's gen 2

Thanks for the post! I just ordered the Home Depot and then seen your post and hurried and canceled the Home Depot one and ordered the Gen III. The Home Depot deal was like $263. The extra $35 is worth it for the 3rd battery alone!

What's the practical difference between this $250 set and the $150 ones Home Depot had on sale for Black Friday?
