BenQ has Refurbished Projectors on sale. I listed a few prices below after 20% off coupon code BENQ20. But I think the coupon may apply to all refurbished on stock, so look around. Shipping is free.

Prices after BENQ20 code:

BenQ HT2050St – 1080P Short Throw gaming projector, 2200 ANSI Lumens, 96% Rec. 709, (Refurb) $557.60
BenQ HT3050 27" 1440p Video Editing Monitor (Refurb) $557.60
BenQ HT9050 laser 4K Pro Cinema Projector DCI-P3 HLD LED - Refurbished $2397.60

All refurbs come with 1 Year Limited Warranty, 80%+ Lamp Life.

PS First time trying to post one of these, sorry if I don't get it right. Cheers.

HT2050St is available for the same price in ebay from Benq seller, which is their regular price. Also today you get 10% ebay bucks, if you use ebay App or 8% ebay buck through browser. This saves $55 for HT2050ST projector.

The bulbs on the 8050 are $299 each so you'd need to go through at least 3 to make up the price difference. The 9050 LED is rated for 20,000 hours & the 8050 bulbs are rated 3000 hours normal, 4000 eco, 6000 smart eco. The LED won't dim over time like the 8050 bulb likely will though. This link has info on the differences and a review on the 9050. https://www.projectorreviews.com/...or-glance/

Just my two cents on Benq projectors, i got a refurbished 2050 direct from Benq, and have owned and used it daily for two years now. Bulb had 5 hours when I purchased, and I've had 0 issues so far.

I'm an online multiplayer gamer and don't experience input lag or delay when gaming with my friends - the projectors are designed for gaming.

I wish the blacks on the 9050 were more competitive. If they were comparable to the Epson 5040 I'd be all over this.

If the HT9050 drops to about $2k I'll give it a try. Though I don't know why I shouldn't just consider the HT8050 instead.

The HT8050 at $1300 is a better deal than the HT9050 at $2400 for sure. Most people would never go through 3 bulbs on it to spend the extra $1k to make up the difference in purchase price. I've had my current projector for 4.5 years and have just under 1900 hours on the first bulb.

3000 hours on the HT8050 is 1000 to 1333 movies!!

What is everyones thoughts on the HT2050A vs the HT 3050? which would you recommend for a small home theater setup?

Thanks!
A few months ago I bought the HT2050a refurbished. It produces a very nice picture for the price, especially the focus clarity. Corner to corner the image is in clear focus (something that was lacking on a few other projectors I tried). Other than some recommended settings found online, I haven't bothered tweaking it much because the standard cinema/gaming picture settings look nice. I read the HT3050 is not much different, but have not tried it so can't say for sure.

In terms of small home theater setup. I use half a basement where front to back wall distance is a bit over 12 feet. Nice thing about the HT2050a is it produces a larger image from a shorter distance than some other projectors. For example, even in my somewhat constrained basement space, I can still get larger than a 120" image.

Refurb vs. New? I saved a lot of money getting refurb and other than 18 or so hours on the lamp, looked like new. On the other hand new gives you 3 years vs. 1 year warranty on the projector (not lamp). So there is that advantage for new. I had one issue where the projector was turning on whenever first plugged into an electrical outlet (even though I had that setting turned off in the UI.) That seems to have stopped occurring, but I will keep an eye out for it. BenQ support person was nice and exchange seems like no problem. I just don't want to get another unit because the image is so clear and in focus on the unit I have.
