this seems like exactly what I want in a monitor...is the "panel lottery" a legit concern with newegg? I saw their return policy is up to 8 dead pixels now. they have the sale price on their ebay store, but you can't add this coupon code there (and I can't find an ebay code).

from the reddit reviews I'd bet 75% or more love it with no issues, but the rest have a few annoying dead pixels and/or white color shift. the last monitor I bought was from Dell, like forever ago, and that thing was perfect out of the box, and they always stood by their products. So that is my hesitance...

60hz and 4ms delay.

I've been using a Dell U2415 for three years which is 60hz and 7ms delay. I never even realized I was operating with a delay until I put a 144hz and 1ms delay monitor next to it. Holy moly. How did I ever live my life?

That seems nuts. Can they really refuse a return if you have, say, seven dead pixels? Anyone with experience returning monitors to newegg that can chime in?

Using the Acer monitor right now. No dead pixel, color is good. Also features a thin bezel which can only be seen on 250+ monitors. For gaming, office, media no problem at all as long as you are not super strict about color accuracy.

You can even go up to 75Hz with DP cable. Some reviews on Newegg say it features Freesync but I never test it since I own Nvidia. All in all, at 220, it's really a good deal. I am not saying it is perfect but it is one of the best choices around 200.

The speakers and build quality sucks though. And the blue LED light can be a hassle but you can just tape it.

Well its goes up to 75hz with display port. As well pretty much everyone is saying Freesync does work even though it's not an advertised feature.

144hz is amazing but I think alot of people want this one for a 2nd monitor since it's IPS. 144hz is usually a significant price jump at 1440p

I got this on the last sale and the light bleed is pretty bad. Even in a well lit room dark scenes are washed out. Other than that it has been great.

I'm done with 60hz monitors pure and simple, especially $379 ones.

Seeing as your dell was ips, and your 1ms response time sounds like a tn panel; I would say your previous life was lived with better color production. 4ms is absolutely fine
