This deal may not be replicated by every one. YMMV. Go easy on me.

I called AT&T loyalty team for an issue with my account. I generally asked if there are any iphone offers with a 2 year contract. Along with the standard iphone offers, the rep mentioned that if I signup for DIRECTV NOW Go Big plan ($65/mo), then Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is free + tax. She herself mentioned that DIRECTV NOW subscription can be cancelled after 30 days. I asked at least 4 times and she confirmed every time that I am not signing any contract on DIRECTV NOW. Since it is $65 plan, DIRECTV is going to send a Roku Stick too.

Breakdown:
1 mo of DIRECTV NOW service: $65
Tax on Note 9: ~ $35
Upgrade fee: Waived.

Note: I am already on AT&T unlimited plan.

Not giving a thumbs down but tied to a contract for 2 years is not a good deal.

Well if you don't plan on going anywhere it's a good deal.

Here's a phone number for a AT&T loyalty agent. If someone tries this, please let us know how it goes. And please don't tell them that there's a thread on it here on Slick Deals.

I call the 800.331.0500 number last week didn't get the Note9 for free but I paid $100 for it with 2 yrs contract and directv now app monthly subscription. I also upgrade 3 other IphoneXRs for $299 each; somehow the Rep kept pushing me to get the Note9 instead of IphoneXR.

Just called the 800.331.0500 number and talked to a loyalty agent about two new Galaxy S10 phones for myself and my son. I got two blue 512gb Galaxy S10 phones for $499 each plus tax. I paid for the phones with a credit card so there are no additional monthly costs. I had to agree to a two-year commitment on two of my four phone lines. Upgrade fees were waved and I also got $20 a month off my bill by going to auto-pay.
