Went to Home Depot and ran across this In-store sale for a Ryobi Ultra-Quiet 2 HP Belt Drive Garage Door Opener for $148 (see image). The Home Depot website still shows it as $248. $100 off from the site!! I missed the last sale when I thought it was at it's lowest at $178. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi.../303810513

I have this GDO from a sale earlier in the year and it works rather well. The online service kind of sucks and doesn't integrate at all with home automation, but is good otherwise. I mainly got it as it's a cheap GDO with a battery backup option.

I thought the same thing about the cheap option. For the price, I'll take a chance. It also has a 3 year warranty on motor & belt and by then the newest latest and greatest GDO will be out.

This is a nationwide price but this model seems to be carried in very few stores. Everyone around me only stocks the 1.25 HP model. Anyone who finds these would you mind sharing the state you are in?

Good garage opener but terrible app and online service. I get random email alerts all the time about the garage door opening and closing when there's nothing really happening. They need to work on that part but the opener itself has been holding up just fine for a year now.

I also agree that for the price this is a great GDO. I replaced my old belt drive Chamberlain model with this and it is whisper quiet in comparison. The app has saved my lazy butt a bunch of times, although I will say its buggy and sometimes unreliable. Also another perk, use this to charge another Ryobi 18v battery when you need multiple batteries. Just take out the backup battery and pop it back in when your done using your tools!

Please update the title. It is 2 HPS, not 2HP. The S stands for simulated. It is actually 1/2 HP, but they claim it can produce zero load torque similar to a 2HP motor.

It is like when a TV company's marketing lists 240Hz for refresh rate. But that is a simulated refresh rate and not real.

Just installed two of those this past weekend - got them a few months back for a little more than this current deal.
They are very quiet and smooth. I like the motion sensor LED light as well. I'm coming from an old chain drive opener, so getting something so quiet is pretty awesome.
The app integration is a pain. Got it working, but it's not very well designed.
The challenge was in configuring the wifi and adding the relay hubs/door sensors.
Does anybody know if there's a way to only use one relay hub for multiple door sensors?

All in all I'm happy with them, but it's less than 24 hrs at this point.

How long does it take to install? Was it difficult?

Very YMMV. Seems to be $248 in stores all around me.

It's no different than any other opener.
I had some help, so it took about two and a half hours total to install both - the second one going a little faster than the first.
