(YMMV) Lowe's: Kobalt 2-Pack 24-volt Max 1.5-Ah Lithium Power Tool Battery Set $14.99

Edit: Now $14.99 in some stores.

Saw this both in store and online today. 2 pack of 1.5-Ah Kobalt 24V batteries for $19.99 (or less)

FWIW, store reps at two different Lowe's have told me Kobalt is getting phased out in favor of Craftsman. If it's true, we'll probably see some deals on the bigger batteries soon.

Really really hope they aren't dropping Kobalt. I'm very invested into the 24v line.

Is it hackable to be compatible with other brands?

Didn't they confirm back in may that they're dropping Kobalt? I remember hearing about it alot at the start of summer as well.

Forgot to mention in OP, one of the reps also said Kobalt lawn tools are being phased out for Greenworks. This is definitely a negative IMO, because Greenworks are more expensive than their (almost identical) Kobalt counterparts. I guess that would explain the recent Kobalt 80V mower deals...

There's been speculation, but never confirmation as far as I can tell

Toolguyd had an article about it: https://toolguyd.com/will-lowes-replace-kobalt-tools-with-craftsman-products/

My neighbor works for Lowes and he also said Kobalt is being replaced by Craftsman.

I am also invested in the Kobalt line, only the drill and impact, but I expect my replacement warranty to continue despite the change.

I loathe craftsman. They better not expand this phase out to their hand tools. I only buy kobalt for the warranty

Is this true for power and hand tools?

Looks like the regular price for 2-pack is $30, so this is 33% off

They used to be $10 for the 1.5 Ah...they raised the price a few months ago. The prices for the 2Ah and 4Ah remained the same.
