Just popped in to say that I am an OG Battle Chasers fan and really enjoyed this light RPG. The battle system can get a bit sloggy so I recommend hitting the dungeons at a higher difficulty - there's some good strategy in your choices (buff, debuff, neutralize, attack, turn order initiatives, etc.) vs. enemy types and it can be quite rewarding. Played it on the PS4 but have heard it's just as good on the Switch and Xbox.

I'll take the opposing view. I've also been a fan of Battle Chasers since the 90's. I was looking forward to this game quite a bit. I found it tedious, and after about 5 hours couldn't do it anymore. It felt like a poor port of a smartphone game, to me.

That said, I really like the source material, so maybe I'll pick it up again when the price is right.

I picked this up for the Switch a few months back and really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved the art style and combat from beginning to end. As someone who gets overwhelmed with open world RPGs, I accepted Battlechasers with open arms because it's pretty linear. You can move around to different locations on your own, but the map itself is kinda like a board game map if that makes sense. If I'm remembering correctly, it took me about 40 hours of gameplay to finish the main campaign along with a majority of side quests. Overall, I thought it was a pretty fun game.

Doesn't need to be connected to the interwebs, right?

Never heard of this game, but for an old school JRPG fan, it looks like a good find. Thanks OP

Shame that this is turn-based RPG. Can't stand that style, otherwise I'd buy it.

Fun game, got it for $7 from the Razer Game Store awhile back for PC. A bit grindy, but enjoyable and being able to respec your perks (talent tree) at any time with no penalty is nice for experimenting with different builds.

FWIW, I'm not a turn based RPG guy, but I played this one and really liked it.
