The wife and I have this popper. It's probably the best air popper out there. We've been using ours several times a week for the last six months. I also recommend Sam's Club's 50 lb bag of popcorn. Not only is it the cheapest popcorn you can buy, but it's the best popping corn we've found. Great stuff, only $23.98 for 50 lbs. Don't worry about it going bad, just keep it dry and it will keep forever. https://www.samsclub.com/sams/mm-...roduct_1_4

So it's a basic air popper, but this machine has an on/off switch, some do not.

You warm up the machine for a couple of minutes and then pour your 1/2 cup (max) of popcorn into the machine. Once you put the corn in watch the chamber for the first couple of pops then tip it back a little so that any unpopped kernels go back down into the chamber. You may want to use an oven mitt or something to hold the machine with as it gets pretty hot. If you don't tip it back a lot of corn will fly out. They've figured out how to make a tangle free brushroll for vacuum cleaners, but they still haven't made an air popper that doesn't spit unpopped kernels out. This popper is no worse than any other. It takes a couple of uses to figure out how much to tip it, and then when to let it go upright as it nears the end of the popping cycle. Within a couple of tries you'll be popping an entire batch with almost no old maids in the bowl.

This is one of the recommended poppers for roasting coffee. Sweet Maria's sells it for the usual $20.

Unless you are planning to mod the air popper I would recommend against it for roasting coffee. You can't get a good light / light medium roast without a variable power controller and special thermometer. I think I got both for around $20

Any recommendations on kernels to go with this as a gift? I'm under the impression that corn is just corn and you season it, but curious if there's some sort of gift basket that would allow for some different flavors, etc? TIA!

Hey BobCoxner, is this true? Am I looking at more tools to get the job done other than just this popper? Thanks both of you!

Hands down the best air popper out there. I've been through many air poppers that were downright awful. Several burnt out, some would spew popcorn everywhere, and others would burn the kernels or not pop them at all. After trying this brand, it's been my go-to air popper for over 2 years; I've used the same popper several times a month and it works as good as new. I'm shocked it has actually lasted this long, considering the heat and beating it's endured popping endless amounts of kernels. Grab one, you won't regret it!

I got this from Walmart not long ago and it's been working pretty well for me so far. I was a little hesitant, being unaware of this brand, but it seems to function very well. Just make sure to follow the directions, specifically preheating the device before adding the kernels.
