Definitely on the pricey end for a Lego set, but this is the cheapest by about $50 that I have seen. Probably great for a true Minecraft lover.

Shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

Or perhaps the true SD'ers will invest now so that you can sell it back to all those now-10-year-olds about 20 years from now? Smilie

I got my kid a $300 3d printer and it is now he is printing his own minecraft designs. Granted the final product is no LEGO quality but it is his own game design in printed form.
That's awesome of you. That kind of skill and creativity will take him places!

First I have heard of these, but then again my kids just started getting into Lego's.
Prices are certainly much better. Do they come with the instruction books and everything, or do you just use the ones on the Lego site? Part of me hates supporting the blatant copying of the Lego models, but for large sets like the Death Star that I would probably never spend that much for. This could be a secondary option I suppose. Would hate to get the blocks mixed up though and then they can never resell them down the road.

In any event, thanks for the information. Smilie

I second that - Lepin sets are great! Some rare and expensive sets which would have cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars from Lego, I've got them for $30-40 from Lepin.

I bought the Tepin knockoff from Aliexpress for $88 shipped for the kids.
Get the knock-off if you want lead poisoning and the rest of the usual unregulated dangerous chemicals they dump on our kids.

Seems like a good deal but kind of a terrible set design
What do you think is terrible about the design?

quality varies in my opinion; i've purchased a few of star wards (retired) sets that are $1000+ now... some sets are very good; minifigs you can't even tell they are 'fake'; unfortunately i've received sets where the colors are off, the pieces don't fit together well (they slip off and the connections aren't firm), and the minifigs are super 'fake'....

you get what you pay for; definitely no QA when you purchase lepins... but fun for these larger or retired sets; but i would always always prefer legos on sale/clearance over a lepins set that is 20-30% cheaper than set on sale...

i have only gotten the creator sets, which are the large "buildings". i have about 15 of them all put together and yes they come with instruction booklet and everything a real lego set would have. everything is identical down to the individual pieces and the number of pieces in the sets.

most modular buildings that are retired go for $500-$1k on ebay and aftermarket sites, you can get the lepin brand for $75-100 depending on the set you want. i do them for time killing as some would read books or play video games, so for me i dont care one bit that they are "fake". i enjoy putting them together and refuse to pay triple or more for the identical "real" product.

Which 3d did you get or would recommend?

interesting that the one character has a shield. it's been removed from the newer version of minecraft (least on the switch).

my son is getting into minecraft and we have a few sets now and they have all been lackluster at best imho, but great for the 6 year old and he really likes the minifigs and the weapons.
