How much is retail? This or wait for the Yamaha for 299?

Google next lowest price was $250 refurb or $350 new https://www.google.com/search?q=d...fox-b-1-ab

Amazon is used is over $250 new over $400 https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-l...dition=all

No sure I would pay 50% for the Yamaha...just don't see it worth the premium in price, IF it goes down again..

I actually need one. Purchased a new HDR 4k TV and my old Yamaha doesn't do any of that.

I am checking the specs on this one, it's checking all the boxes. What am I missing? Sounds like a good deal.

Amazon has an authorized seller with a refurbished unit for $199 also

Looks like the same reseller on Amazon, except shipping charges apply if buying same thing on Amazon from same retailer.

Been waiting on one too but this is tempting. My 1105 gave up the center couple months ago.

Will this connect to my cheapo speakers?
My five year old Onkyo stopped transmitting audio for good this year, and I'm seeing online that Onkyos overheat, could get repaired and then fail again. Not up for resoldering and trying to install a fan on it myself, but would like the next receiver to at least hook up to the speakers that came with the old one... it came with front, back, center speakers and a subwoofer....

If I have a 5.1 setup from the recent Infinity sale, will the 7.2 downmix to 5.1?

EDIT: read the manual. Yes, there is a setting on the receiver to determine this

They will if they are the right ohm rating; ie. 8 ohm. Otherwise the loads on the receiver change. If the speakers are Onlyo, I suspect they're good. It's just the very cheap HTIB speakers that can be problematic. This is a great deal; I have 3 Denon receivers in use right now.

In for 1 - thanks OP! Been waiting for a deal on this since I missed out on the September deal for $215 at best buy. The last piece I needed to upgrade my old home theater to 4k - before the projector....now to watch for the Veiwsonic PK747-4k refurb to drop below the $815 it is now...

They are listed on Denon's site as authorized online dealers. Bizate shows over 10k reviews 9.5 average https://bizratesurveys.com/review....com/32107

Noob question. I have a 5.1 setup with built-in speakers in my new home, with 2 more wires going to speakers out on the patio. Would this receiver be ok to run both zones separately or together?

The specs state that it has "Powered Multi-room Audio Output." Is that an affirmative answer to my question?

Looks like you can setup a 5.2 plus 2 speakers on zone 2 on this receiver. it has something called HEOS built in which is like Sonos. You can add wireless HEOS speakers in other rooms also.
