Seems decent, but keep in mind Microsoft has the same HP Pavilion with an i5, 8GB RAM and a 128GB SSD. Unless you're on a really tight budget it might make sense to spend the extra $100 for that.

Not bad at this price point!

Think I will stick with the faster I5 processor, 8gb ram and the 128 SSD in the earlier Microsoft deal.
That said, different strokes for different folks.

Good one.

price and store in title... price and store in title... price and store in title

Also, Optane is super fast, but it is not RAM, The 4gb on this is going to get old quick. Not sure what the max is on this, but I would assume at least 8gb. Not a bad price overall for a touch 2/1.

Anybody running Chrome or Linux on this? Wondering if all features work with either.

Nice, that gives the buyer a lot of room to grow. The 128gb is easy enough to replace with a larger drive currently on sale.

Wow thanks. I just thought it was a decent deal and got excited as I literally watched the price drop on brickseek from $499 to $399 in my area. I was about to buy one if the quantity started running low but I'm going to research a little more about the one you posted. I already purchased a HP touch today that I shouldn't have. It's the HP 15 Laptop 15.6" Touchscreen Laptop , Intel Pentium Silver N5000, 1TB HDD, 4GB SDRAM, Windows 10 - Jet Black - 15-bs289wm that I paid $259. I'm sure it'll make a nice gift or something later but I rather something we decent specs.

that's just the CPU. Mobo may limit it to 1 slot like my old inspiron 13 7000.

I just need a laptop for browsing, managing my iTunes playlists, occasional movie watching and printing out eBay labels. I'm so out of the loop with computer specs these days. Should I spent the extra $100 or just settle with this one?

The I5 will have better performance due to the higher level chip (worth upgrade by itself) and the SSD drive. The SSD drives are noticeably faster to boot up and the battery will last longer with nothing to spin.
Also if you needed more storage space, these have an empty bay and you can shove a cheap $40 1TB HDD into or a cheaper $20 120gig drive into or another SSD which will be more expensive than traditional HDDs.
Alternately you can always just plug and play with external drives now for storage or use a cloud. I really see no need for huge storage inside the pc.

No. Optical drives are kind of going away now. Anything can be found on the net and/or be put on a stick to upload to your PC.
