First few seasons of the reboot were great (Rose!), but after Matt, my whole family just..lost interest. Peter's character just didn't really engage us as did previous incarnations......also, the writing...just got......flat and kind of weird...

I think I'd rather go back and re-watch Tom Baker episodes (the quintessential Dr., in my humble opinion)....

Now if one knight lies, and the other tells the truth, but I don't know which one is which......... Wink

I believe this would be cheaper than buying all the sets individually. TU and Repped!

Those mad eyebrows. The last season was amazing. Unfortunately can't say the same for the first season for 12th nor can I say the same for Jodie's run thus far

The writing took a nose dive after Matt Smith. Peter did a good job holding this pile together while the toilet flushed but it still rough to get through. They double downed with Jodie and its not watchable anymore. All the pandering aside, Jodie's writing has stayed between the spectrum of boring or annoying. Its a shame because she is clearly a talented actor.

i guess i'm in the minority. i find the writing for whittaker fresh, the adventures both new and harkening back, the lead actress very enjoyable to watch, and the team of companions adding diverse and fun perspective. i couldn't stand the worn out, oversensationalized writing over the last two seasons for poor peter capaldi.

overall, ratings are slightly up for the whole season 11 vs 10. but no doubt everyone has their favorite doctor and season, etc. (long live tennant, and weeping angels!)

These are beautiful sets. I have the Matt Smith set, which I got on another Slickdeal some years back, and it is well worth the money. I wish they would come out with another Tennant set with Blu-ray, as the original was DVD...

am I the only one that thinks Capaldi was the worst Doctor of the new series? I was a Tom Baker fan ages ago when I started watching it, but of the new series, Matt Smith was my favorite

You're not alone. I hated Capaldi's run from beginning to end. It was miserable. There were some good stories but he just didn't fit the character. I didn't get that "times are dark but we're still gonna have fun" vibe. Jodie Whittaker was Who's saving grace. Doctor Who hasn't been so good in years! Her personality reminds me of David Tennant and I really hope she stays around for several seasons.

I think the fact that Capaldi was, perhaps, my favorite Doctor of the new series despite some truly dreadfully written episodes is a testament to his talent. I love all the rest, too, but his take as the grumpy old man with two huge, kind hearts really resonated with me.

This is a great price for this set, which includes everything he was in (save "The Day of the Doctor"), including his guest role during the Tennant years, which was worked into the lore. The inner book on my copy slides out way too easily from the outer cover, but that's about all for the cons to this edition.

Buy this knowing that Capalldi's doctor would frown disapprovingly at your rampant consumerism, eyebrows and all.
