Geez 9.0AH is HUGE. I would think it may be useful for something like a blower or vac, but most of these tools will work really well with a 4.0 battery that weighs half as much. $180 doesn't seem like a great value unless you have a really specific need for the 9.0 battery and already have other ridgid tools.

the real deal here with these promos is getting ~40% off a bare tool to add to your collection... just order the battery set at a different store, pickup the bare tool you want, then call and cancel the battery set. this is the only way i buy tools anymore, HD return policy is fantastic for getting great prices on stuff that never goes on sale.

ps.
agreed, 9AH is way too big for almost anything, besides a chopsaw or something similar that's stationary... i wouldn't even want it in my recip saw, using that thing one handed for quick (very rough) cuts is fantastic... i wouldn't even attempt that with my Super Sawzall

Oh wow, I didn't even think about that. This is how I got my drill+impact kit for $113 a couple years ago. I'd love that light cannon....

I started getting into the RIDGID line recently because their lifetime warranty (usually) covers batteries. This was a big deal for me because I've had too many LiPo go weak / bad.

At this point I've got a handful of 4AH ridgid batteries and I was looking for one of the work lights. This big 9AH battery might be too much for my screwdriver, but I wonder how long it would last powering one of those work lights?

I got the octane recip saw, belt sander, circ saw the last time this deal occurred. The Octane recip is a beast. A true cord replacer.

My wife said no more tools. So tempting.

YES, I love the panel light and could really use the tripod. I believe any tripod would work, but I like matching tools. The light canon is tempting, but even this deal puts it close to $70 for what looks like a normal flashlight.

I wish the beam was focusable, I'd love to have a long lasting durable spotlight that can cast a 200 yard beam.

yeah, it is really just a big flashlight when it boils down to it... 2500 lumens, but yeah. i haven't really shopped around for quality flashlights in a while, but i have to imagine you'd be close to that for the same lumens if you're not buying misrepresented Chinese crap. also, the batteries... you know what you're using and getting, not some firestarter noname 18650s.

but, yeah, i do hear ya. 70$ is steep for a flashlight.

explain further? the steps are there already...
order the battery set, at whatever store, and bare tool, either for pickup or shipping
pickup the bare tool or wait for shipping
call and cancel the battery set at the other random store
*you could always just buy both in store, then turn around and return the battery set if you wanted to... i just find calling another store to be easier, even though they have to go through the process of saying you picked it up and then return it. either way works.

there's really nothing else to it...
receipt clearly states how much you'll get back if either thing is returned.

The light cannon is crazy bright. It would be nice if the beam could be focused (as RugerRedhawk mentioned) and the brightness setting wouldn't always rest to full bright when turning on, rather staying at the brightness level it was on when turned off.

This is a better deal than last time. $20 cheaper
(last time it was $199 9.0ah + charger + bare tool)

ridgid has a cordless miter but it's not sold at HD yet.
That would be the best use for the 9.0
