Nobody plays just one frequency thru one channel....EVER. that's a totally useless rating.

this power rating is more useful

150 watts per channel into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.06% THD, with 2 channels driven

FYI, for those of you that bit on the $1199 price like I did on Monday (pending delivery today for me), I just did an online chat with Adorama and they agreed to refund the $100 difference to my credit card. No fuss or arguing, so kudos to Adorama for making that painless.

You forgot to mention the Denon 4400h is heating (hot) like hell Smilie . I have one. Not sure how long it will last. Overall sound quality and features are awesome on the Denon. Reliability is my concern.

I had my last Yamaha receiver for over 7 years before I gave it to my brother - not a single issue.

Very good deal. I paid this amount for the 2070. TU This is a drop of $300. from Andorama's recent price on this.

Excellent price for an excellent receiver.

Stepped up to the 3070 from a 2010 and while the sound quality didn't take a major leap forward we have some key improvements in the 4k capabilities, atmos support, and better smart home and app integrations (including MusicCast which app is far superior to the standard Yamaha phone/tablet app).

My setup allows use of all these new capabilities and they are well worth the upgrade if you're stepping up from an older model.

Thanks for that info. I just chatted with them as well and they are refunding the $100 difference. 👍🏻 Score!

I did as well.
I've only begun to scratch the surface of what the receiver can do.

I bought the 1080 from Fry's for $800...is it worth the extra $300 for the 3070 (i don't need the 9.1)?

If you don't need the extra features, stick with what you have and save the money.

If I didn't need 9 channels for 5.1.4, I'd stick with $300-400 receivers.

Always wanna try Yamaha. I have Denon 4400 now and I love 3D Auro. Big difference between these two?
