Another in case you missed it, Catalina Marketing has filed for bankruptcy. They are reorganizing and don't expect day-to-day operations to be affected by the bankruptcy filing, it's just to cancel out a bunch of their debt. Reading the article it sounds like they want to transition away from paper qs towards digital (bummer in my book):

Posted this in the winter chat thread, thought it might be worth reposting here for those who weren't aware. Catalina Marketing filed for bankruptcy yesterday. They are reorganizing and don't expect day-to-day operations to be affected by the bankruptcy filing, it's primarily to cancel out a bunch of their debt. Looks like a bunch of hedge funds will take a bath on this. Reading the article it sounds like they want to transition away from paper qs towards digital as has been discussed from time to time in this thread (bummer in my book):

I'd like to know how the hell did they incur this kind of debt.
Bringing this to the more chat appropriate thread. I was wondering this too...are mfrs not reimbursing fully for promotions? This has to be more than just man power, right?!?

Read a comment on another site that qs will continue to be honored, so I took that to mean that mfr reimbursement isn't affected, although I'm no expert so I could be wrong.

My guess (worth what you paid for it LOL) is that won't be affected by the filing, the move to digital is part of a longer term strategy. As long as manufacturers want to use/pay for the OYNO marketing system, I'm sure Catalina will be happy to provide it. I love cats, so I'm really really hoping that doesn't change anytime soon shake head

Kinda surprised them not mentioning the effect that fake cats have had on thier promos, but that would be bringing skeletons out of the closetEEK!

That's not it. What happened- more likely than not- is that the private equities that own it saddled it with tons of debt, pilfered dividends and buybacks and forced into bankruptcy.

I don't know, but several times when I've had to contact them about not getting an on your next order coupon, they express-mailed me a $1 or $1.50 catalina and paid $7 postage to do so. Not exactly smart business there. None of that would be needed if they actually took care of their machines, but I'm lucky to get my cats 50% of the time at best.
Mine have never been express mailed, just regular postage.

Does anyone know of any DS/pharmacies that cover online order placement and delivery? I'm on a few chronic meds (non-psych) and am looking to see if I can get any savings buying in bulk and doing the mail order thing...thanks!

I assume you don't have a Drug Plan? On ours, any Rx thats not a one time thing, needs to go thru Express Scripts, where we get 90 day supplies in each mailing, and much cheaper than Drug stores.
Maybe you can look into a Drug plan for yourself.

a friend of mine swears by GoodRX. You sign up online and they find the cheapest way to get the meds I think.

GoodRX is good. I don't even think you have to sign-up. I used it a couple of weeks ago & you just put in a zip code & drug & it gives prices at local stores, you click on the one you want & print the card for that store. I've used it many times in the past.

It works for pet meds as well. Kittyhug

They don't do mail order AFAIK but call Costco and ask their price. You do not need to be a member to use the pharmacy. It's the same at Sam's Club I think. They're usually much cheaper.
