It's 5.52 lbs. Too heavy for what I'm looking for but you could throw it in your car and pull it out for scenic overlooks?

I took a MeFoto GlobeTrotter to Africa with me and was not disappointed. Was shooting Nikon D90 and D610. I think the longest I had was the 28-300. Thing weighed about 3 pounds but I think there is a carbon model if that's your thing and your pockets are that deep. It also allows you to use a single leg as a tripod, which saved my bacon when I wanted a monopod to help shoot from a sitting position in the land rover on safari.

I have done the SD Macy's rebate a couple times with no problems at all.

I've bought the $10 tripod mostly for my phone, and looking to buy a tripod that will not drop my Canon. Should I get this one or wait for better deal?

Got this for $100 few yrs ago. The tripod and ball head are solid. I've used it with manfrotto xpro fluid head with my camcorder, an external light and rode mounted on top.
Would highly recommend it at this price.
