Quality product can be had from "Made in China", but it depends on the brand and Washburn is a solid brand

These chinese guitars ALWAYS have problems. If you want to spend another $100 to get it fixed it will probably play okay.

I have several Chinese guitars and I have friends with Chinese guitars. None of them have problems, but you get what you pay for - my $80 Chinese acoustic is not nearly as nice as my friends $200 Chinese acoustic.

My $300 Chinese bass guitar gets mistaken for Fender and I've been told it plays like a quality Fender (I wouldn't know, I just goof with it sometimes and I've never played another bass)

I would really hate to buy an acoustic w/o holding and playing, but this one looks pretty solid.

Yep. Look at Eastman guitars, for example. My Chinese-made Guild is a quality instrument.
I was kind of "meh" on Washburn for a while, but their more recent products seem worthy.

I recently bought a Washburn WLO10S, an auditorium sized solid spruce top, sight unseen. I only paid $135 new, they sold all year for $300 at the big box musical instrument stores, so figured I can't go wrong. I've always thought Washburn acoustic guitars offered great value. One of my all time favorites was my all solid Mahogany WD18SW (circa early 2000's), man I miss that guitar. Anyway, about the WLO10S, it's built very well, the quality is apparent, it plays good out of the box, it just sounds like, "meh", not bad, not great, just ok. For $135 I'm not complaining, but it's the first Washburn I've owned that I wasn't impressed with sound-wise per dollar spent. Of course sound is subjective and sometimes we musicians overanalyze just bit Wink.

I've been debating picking up the dreadnought deal for $300 for a couple days now, but don't want to be disappointed again. If I don't like it, it's probably $40 to return ( I don't lie in order to get free return shipping, I have in the past many times.. thinking nothing of it, but I've grown a little in my old age!).
