High capacity (compared within the same chemistry) usually = fewer cycles. The higher capacity batteries usually are manufactured to a better spec or have a slightly different anode/cathode make up than the standard chemistry. Like almost everything in life there are pros and cons to different configurations.

Fully / over charging Ni-MH or LiPO / LiFePo4 batteries could be considered a stress on the chemistry and while it gives the user a maximum time between charges it make cause deterioration of the anode/cathode and shorten the total lifetime charge cycles of the battery. Comparing between chemistries is difficult, so this blanket statement may not completely apply to all rechargeable batteries (LiFePO4 for example is mildly resistant to degredation after overcharge) but it's a good idea to match your battery chemistry to the need. Low capacity - high cycles, high capacity - lower cycles, storage charge, quick charge, etc.

These grey amazonbasics have been good for me when used in cameras because of their higher capacity, but I am willing to trade that for fewer cycles (500ish vs 2100ish). Get the 2000mAH batteries if you want more cycles. Either way they seem to be holding up well.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think when someone says "wonder" they are "asserting" anything.

By all accounts, they're rebranded high capacity eneloops.

According to Camel, this is the lowest price this year. Usually between $9-$11.
