I've been search for a while to upgrade my Note 4. I almost pulled the trigger on the Note 8 deal for $410, but then saw Best Buy increased the discount on the Note 9.

$24.99 for 24 months (Sprint Upgrade) $400 off.
Details: [ $24.99/mo. for 24 months. 0% APR. No Bill credits. "You may prepay this Installment Agreement in whole or in part at any time without penalty."]

or

$20.00 for 24 months (Sprint New Line or Account) $520 off
Details: [ Bill credit for new line: $20.00/mo. for 24 months after $21.67/mo Sprint bill credit for 24 mos; 0% APR. Bill credits begin within 1-2 cycles. Bill credits end when balance is paid. Line must remain in good standing.]

I am a BYOD customer 2 months into the program. It says that I am not eligible for the upgrade. I understand Sprint may have a 120 waiting period for upgrades on the BYOD program. Is there any workaround? $600 for a Note 9 on Sprint without bill credits is the best deal I have seen stalking the posts for the past month.

They won't let you do this $600 upgrade version if you have an old grandfathered plan, right?

To do the upgrade, do I have to pay in 24 month installments or can I pay off early?

Under the Prepayment section in the contract they gave me: "You may prepay this Installment Agreement in whole or in part at any time without penalty."

I currently have the 8 and it's terrible. I have to buy a new spend every other month as mine keeps breaking. Unfortunately im not eligible for an upgrade.
Why do they break?

I've had the note 4 for over four years with no issues. I am hoping the note 9 last just as long. I heard the new 4000 mAh battery in the note 9 shouldn't lose more than 5% capacity after 2 years of use.
