All the reviews that you can use a firestick or chromecast. Don't see why you couldn't, it has an hdmi port. At least for the lite version, haven't checked the 2.

I've had the lite on my wishlist for a while and I had to pull the trigger. Hope it doesn't suck or break in a month. At least anker's support is usually very good.

Looking at the reviews, it looks like both work with a chromecast, they just meant that you can't cast to the device.

It has an HDMI port... It's compatible, it doesn't have Chromecast built in.

I've had one since this past summer. Chromecast, Apple TV, Firestick, etc all work through HDMI. My biggest complaint is the inability to adjust the picture (temperature, sharpness, etc.).

I hear the OS is pretty bad and many people opted for the Lite as a result. If the only addition is the Smart OS it's not worth it considering you can power it through a connected streaming device.

I have the Mars II and purchased it before the LITE version came out. I can guarantee that chromecast is supported in that you must have a chromecast device to plug it into the HDMI. The "not supported" language simply means it's not built into their OS. Though screen mirroring is built into the OS of the Mars II, it is worthless and the Android OS of the Mars II is junk. Not that it's super slow, it's the app connection from phone to projector that's slow, but the apps you can use on the android OS are mostly broken or don't exist.

In any case, plug in a chromecast and have at it. It works great as a solid protable projector. I get about 3.5 hours of battery time out of mine.

In comparison to the LITE, if it had existed when I ordered mine, I would have gotten it instead. It is the same as the Mars II except it doesn't have the android on it. But you would use a chromecast or straight HDMI input anyway.

There is conflicting information as far as whether the battery life is better on the MARS II vs the LITE and the amazon item description has them as being different size dimensions. Unfortunately, don't have the lite or know anyone who does to compare.

Nope. They both have the same Ansi. Kinda strange they went from 500 ansi on the Mars I to 300 on the Mars II. That was the main compromise you had to make before when choosing LITE over Mars. Because the LITE is 300 ansi, but now that the MARS II is also 300 ANSI, the difference now is the 7.1 Android built in the MARS II. Still, it is a cumbersome experience because you don't get playstore, you get Apptoid, and the remote works like a mouse. You click to activate mouse, then you follow the cursor to click on selection. I hate that.

Much better to use the Fire Stick and its much better remote experience. So get the LITE, plug in the Fire stick and you're good to go. You don't even need to plug the Fire Stick to a wall outlet. The projector is a power bank itself with a USB port, plug the USB cable into the port and you're completely wireless assuming you're completely charged. The only downside is that you cannot set the Mars to it's brightest setting without the power adapter. The difference isn't that noticeable.
