yeah. i have been a fan of asus motherboards for a while, this is a list of my older builds:
p5w-dh deluxe = core 2 quad
z97 deluxe = 4770k
z270 maximus IX formula = 7700k = my current 4k gaming pc
z390i = 9600k - for my small form factor VR build

i love the 1 click overclock feature.

nice. what case did you go with? i am currently building a VR/HTPC build. i usually go with i7's, but i got the i5 for $238 shipped with one of the last ebay coupons, and for gaming, its pretty close. though i have been keeping an eye out on hardwareswap for a 9700k or 9900k at the right price.

my build:
phanteks evolve shift (its gorgeous but can run hot)
added an extra rgb fan frame from phanteks
z390i strix - just ordered from BH
9600k
coolermaster ml120r AIO
16gb corsair 3600mhz rgb
gtx 1080 hybrid
hp 1tb nvme drive - ordered (came up on sale a few times in the last 2 weeks)
corsair SF600 platinum
I have some extra noctua fans, but i think i will order some a12x25 fans.

if i can find a deal on a used 1080ti reference/founders, i will probably upgrade. but i am just waiting for the right price.

I'm using a Fractal Design Core 500, works great.. I previously had a ASRock Z270 mobo with an i7-7700K.. with a Scythe SCKTT-1000.. ran dead silent, should be just the same with the new CPU. I had a GTX 1080ti but I sold it as I don't game too much anymore, I use this rig as a 4K HTPC, primarily for videos and such but occasional lightweight games. Was able to get just over $300 for the 7700K CPU alone on eBay so I figured it was time for an upgrade to an i7-9700k.
