This is the latest version that has a better connection and sound. I just picked one up in Best Buy with a price match. I'm really impressed. Better sound than the Jabra 65T.

They actually are pretty comfortable. For me they are better than the Jabras. The Bose are more comfortable but they are not in ear.

Wish they would start putting ambient passthrough on these cheaper true wireless buds. Make it happen!

I agree. I bought mine from BH cause I didn't want to bother going in store. Free overnight shipping was nice. I agree with everything you said about them, but they aren't as reliable imho. I get cut outs more frequently than with my actives. The free don't pair up as fast the actives, and the left bud has to be turned on or it doesn't sync compared to the rock solid 65t's.
Not having volume control sucks, but I find the controls on the free to be more intuitive. With my elites I find myself fumbling around to change a track, digging in my ear far more than with the free.

I added some sport comply tips and that gave it a richer sound. The sound for a true wireless bud is crazy, the comply tips aren't even needed. The sound with the 65ts is also better with the sport comply tips (still not as good as the free) but they are not as comfortable with the sport tips, perhaps a smaller tip would be better. Overall I'm very impressed.

So far I have not had any issues with drop outs and the left always connects automatically. Are u sure they sent u the X? Or maybe yours is defective. Also I love the case. Its fairly small, magnetic and carrys and extra 20 hours which is awesome. At $70, this was an absolute steal.

Yup, I'm sure they sent me the right ones. I'm comparing them to the 65ts and they just don't come close connection-wise. It's nitpicking, and had I not owned the 65ts I probably wouldn't even complain about it tbh.

The case is great and I like it better than my jabra case. It's larger, but feels well built cause it has has some weight to it. Charging goes to the 65ts, the jabras charge quicker at least in my experience. A bonus with the JBL case is that I don't have to take off the comply tips. I just put the bud in the case as intended, foam ear tip in it's place first, then push in and down just a bit in order to to lock in the the magnet and charging pins, it holds in place like that was part of the design. Not having to take off the foam tips every time I store my buds is great, and even if I had to take the foam tips off, there is plenty of room in the case to carry them in between the buds.

I agree with you in that for what we paid, it is a steal. I paid double for my active 65ts, and although my actives do some things better, and imho are a better overall product, they are not double the price better. I'm really missing stereo calling like on my actives though, mono sucks in comparison.
