I never know what Sony phones are new or from 2012 since the names are all the same as is the bezel size, howd this phone come out in 2018?

You'd think Sony who makes the most stunningly minimalist TV designs would figure out how to make their phone bezels not look like they're from 2009.

ugly and no CDMA
Says in the images that there is VZW support. So, there's at least some CDMA support.

I remember last year the XA1 Ultra was about $200 and the comment section convinced me to wait for the XA2 Ultra to drop to $200 one year from then. Lol I guess that's not happening. The XA2 got a huge battery bump and now rocks with Qualcomm instead of mediatek. I guess the extra $50 is justifiable now.

It's disappointing that they lack T-Mobile band 12 VoLTE functionality.

Verizon works with some voice over LTE phones that do not support cdma at all.

Good deal, and solid phone. TU.

Compared to other SD630 phones it competes with, it's very similar in screen, bezel, memory, and performance. Some folks may prefer it to the Moto X4 since it has a plastic back that should be more robust than the X4's glass back. It also has a dedicated camera button and a few other Sony-specific features. This model does officially support Verizon, and they moved the FP reader to the back (versus the side in earlier models) and enabled it in the USA.

Personally, I don't have a problem putting a case on a phone to protect the glass back, so the X4's more complete carrier support (Sprint and Fi, for example), ip68 rating, and more significant price drops make it more appealing for me. I haven't checked the Sony, but the X4 also has several Google Camera ports available.

It has band 12 lte for t-mobile, but doesn't support volte/WiFi calling. It says so in the band space as well as answered by Sony in the questions.

What is the difference between this and the one on best buy website? If they are the same then best buy has better offer with $50 sim and refill bundle
