the HDD can be shucked very easily (secured by double sided tape). however, it is 15mm height so it won't fit in PS4 or most 2.5 bays.

here is the drive itself should you want to buy it.

Does anyone have any experience with this drive? I am reading some reviews about slow transfer speed.

How's the RMA rate or warranty cover for this drive? I read so many negative response before so I'm a bit skeptical using this one for my backups.

I have been looking for a good drive and all drives seem to have significant issues based on reviews.

Does anyone have any experience with this drive? I am reading some reviews about slow transfer speed.
I bought 4 for my zfs ( actually 5 drive, I bought 1 two years ago).
this drive is SMR, reading is good, but writing is not good as real PMR drive,

the drive can sustain 100mb/s to 160mb/s with in 10 minutes..
if copy a large file such as 50gb or more, the writing speed will reduce to up 80mb/s, 60mb/s on average,

since I use in zfs, the performance is good enough (below 40%-50% PMR drive that I have on zfs). I am not complaining

one warning, you have to disable APM to use for internal drive since load_cycle is very aggressive, I see 2-3 second goes to park/load_cycle. too much load_cycle kills the drive.
an example to disable APM on linux : https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=772159

for external drive, use it as a backup and turn off after that, I will guarantee... load_cycle will kill the drive if you let sit idle since OS would wake up drives when needed during idle.

if you need great writing speed, get real PMR drive. all external seagate usb 3.X are SMR..
price does not lie hhaha...

I was/probably still am going to use a $15 promo credit on amazon to get the drive to $102 after tax, so yeah imo it was slick.

Rakuten with a 20% off will also get the drive to $100.

As for quality, I can only speak on my experience and it's been all good for 3 years now, I use them (4 and 5tb red seagate) for our smart tv's.
