I know a lot of folks have picked up the Core Set of Star Wars Armada over the last few weeks. The Victory Class Star Destroyer is on sale for the lowest price ever, $16.66: Now $17.47

Never hurts to have a second one at your disposal!

Also there are a couple of other deals:

If you did pick up the starter kit, all of the ships in the starter kit have their own expansions (the Nebulon-B Frigate, the Rebel Corvette, and Victory Star Destroyer) which contain cards not in the starter set, so it's typically worth picking up one of those if you're interested in the cards for playing games\tournaments with legal components.

Nah, but buy a backup for when the first one flies off the desk on its own (aka starjacked)...

It is a miniatures game. The cards are just a component

"Expansion Pack"?? WTF is this? A card game? Just collectible miniatures? Some online game using "cards"? doesn't seem clear at all for people that don't already know.
Had to search for a answer. Seems it's a miniatures based game, like Warhammer,... maybe?
Pretty cool miniatures game where you choose which miniatures and the cards you want to associate with them / pilot cards you want to associate with them. I played it with my son (10 at the time) a few times but it was a bit much for him. That said, it seems relatively well done and the experience was pretty fun.

Keep in mind that Attack Wing makes a similar line for Star Trek, and they go pretty deep with the obscurity of ships too. The larger non-gaming Eaglmeoss diecast miniatures are more nicely detailed, though.

Other than appearance, is there any differences between the Interdictor and Victory Class SD?

Same speed, but more manueverable. Less firepower, but more engineering points. I would imagine it's upgrade cards involve slowing down other ships as well.
