I've read before that some people were successful in opening up a new paid line in addition to their 12 months free byod plan and porting out after paying the device. Then swap this baby into their free byod plan.

Is there a credit check needed? I'm assuming you can cancel after first month; correct? And can these be unlocked on ebay?

Hehehe Macro..... Happy New Year. And the S8+ is only $244 activate today. Good deal but my cash is tied up on 2 Pixel 3XLs which I can try to sell in 4 months. All you have to do is add taxes on full price and activation which sometimes can be waived if you can charm the chat bots.
Happy New Year to you too and make more love! Stop romancing the chatbots, make real love Big Grin

Yes, it can be done because you can mix and match different plans on the same account. But don't do the hit-and-run too many times as Sprint will spank you and ban you for good.

Credit check for new customers only. You can cancel the line anytime, as soon as you received and activated the phone, but don't overdo it as Sprint will ban you for good if you do it too many times in a short period of time. You can ask Sprint to unlock it after 50 days active on any Sprint plan. Many people put it on the Sprint free 1-year BYOD plan and ask Sprint to unlock it after 50 days. Not sure about unlocking from eBay. If anyone has experience with unlocking from eBay, please chime in your experience and include the info of the eBay seller.

Happy New Year to everyone and make more love!

If you are a current Sprint customer with an active account, you can just upgrade a line with activation to get the deal. Some people have reported getting the activation/upgrade fee refunded by contacting Sprint in past deals.

Hey. Please provide the link for the S8+ deal you've mentioned. Thanks.

Is the phone compatible with other providers after it's unlocked (like iPhones etc)? Or tied to the sprint towers for life?

Too bad cancer taxes kill many B&M deals nowadays. I don't think I bought anything at BB for the past 2 years...
Not sure what non-taxable reputable online retailers will come with similar deals.

Is it possible to buy this ( or S8+), keep Sprint line for 50 days, then cancel and unlock to use with T-Mobile?
