Yup, which I don't get. I have two of these in my home - bedroom and kitchen - and was just last night looking to find another one for my basement. I've been very pleased with both of my Taps - even with a home that has a mixture of Google Home and Amazon Alexa devices, the Taps are my go-to devices all the time.

Here's a PC Mag review from June 2018 (6.5 months ago):
https://www.pcmag.com/review/343482/amazon-tap

Amazon kinda goofed when they released the Tap and had to cripple it lest it undercut sales of it's more expensive Echo big brother. The portability and long batter life would've been Echo killers if they hadn't disabled voice triggering, multi-room and drop-in. Amazon later relented and re-enabled voice triggering but not until after the damage was already done. And now that Amazon has declared the Tap to be at EOL, there's certainly no going back.

But for $30?!? C'mon. This is a steal for a portable BT speaker with Alexa-enabled streaming access. I ordered one this morning, I just ordered a 2nd one because there's no telling if they'll ever be available again.

So, you can use this as a Dot type device? It just has the better speaker?

That and portability due to it's internal battery.

When Amazon sends things to woot I generally stay away. There's a reason.
