Taking a look at Brickseek I came across this deal- supposedly some areas are as low as $49, mine (Florida) most all Walmarts seem to be discounted down to $99.

As usual (especially lately) this is YMMV so be sure to use Brickseek to get an idea for current inventory and current discount. And for those interested in this: may the odds be in your favor you find an employee willing to assist.

That's why you don't run Chrome on low RAM machines. Chrome has become bloated and a memory hog, especially if you leave it running for a long time in the background.
Bloat bloat! Bloat bloat! Honk honk. No, Chrome is fine.

Of course it runs fine...if you use it then close it out in the end. Try leaving it running in the background with several tabs running, with a few of those tabs running heavily scripted websites. The browser will slow to a crawl after a period of time. If you have a low RAM machine with crappy CPU, the browser will struggle with any moderately heavy website with even just 1 or 2 tabs open. If you're running on a beefy PC, what I said won't apply to you because you won't see any of those issues. Your rig would be powerful enough to run all the bloat and deal with the memory hog.

Just a warning windows 10 runs like crap on those laptop 5200rpm mechanical hard drives! When it's installing updates in the background (which feels almost all the time) or indexing files or etc, the disk usage always goes to 100%, slowing the entire system down. Combined with the slow Pentium atom CPU and it will be an absolutely miserable experience.

Maybe this will be a nice laptop if it's possible to replace the HDD with a cheap SSD or install Xubuntu.

The real joke is Walmart employees. Just about almost every store I go to and cannot find the item I'm looking for in the aisle; I've as for their assistance and they plan out just say we are out of stock. They never bother to take the effort to help look, even if I show them the website that says this item is available at this location and only can be purchased in-store.
None of us care that any website says something is available. It's not gonna magically pop up because of that.

I don't get why the website and store always have different prices, same company. Shows over 350 for me.
It's a different company. You aren't paying attention and you don't understand how the website works.

Clearance items get removed from Walmart's website and any listing on there is from 3rd party sellers.

IMHO it isn't worth trying unless you're going by there or going to be there anyway. Limited Inventory is typically OOS or the employees will have no idea what you're talking about or can't find it.

No, I think they had it right. BS never has never had lowes, target or wm inventory accurate for me. Not bothered with any others.

Regarding Brickseek & Walmart, I notice often they will show out of stock on there skus but when you get the email showing a markdown just happened the product actually exist in the store but they'll put an extremely low overrride price. I've gotten a few things recently like that.

74 miles for a fat chance? I'm debating too and it's 7 miles away : )

Yes definitely, I would leave early to get there before someone else does.

I mean you could easily run ChromeOS on this using Neverware. It would be excellent for that at the least. Then again Windows should work pretty well. I've used a Intel Atom on a Surface 3 with tons of tabs open, Microsoft Office and outlook open as well. It was able to handle it for the most part
This would make a great chromebook. I've had hit or miss success with touch enabled devices. Have you run Neverware of this model and know it works?
