Play more games then. Have fun editing .ini files, playing with regedit, and installing hacks to get games working. And it's not just old games that dont work, plenty of 2018 releases had garbage ultrawide support out the gate.
What garbage games are you playing that don't play nice with 21:9?? Every single game I've played has had 21:9 support from release, and I bought my current Dell ultrawide in 2015. R6 Siege, PUBG, Escape From Tarkov, Realm Royale, Fortnite, Tomb Raider, Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 4, State of Decay, League of Legends, BLOPS4, BF5, Battlefront 2, Final Fantasy XIII, FF XV, The Division, Cities: Skylines, GTA5, Dead Space, Bioshocks, CS GO... the list goes on.

So what games DON'T have 21:9 support? I bet you don't even own a 21:9 display.

I tried many times and end up filed a complain ("feedback" at the bottom left coner) to tell Newegg the code does not work. After the feedback I surprisingly found the coupon works. Just ordered one.

Ouch. Those are in the $700+ range. I game a little but mostly read, research, and program so clear sharp text is important.
If gaming is on the lighter side, and you have a beefy enough gpu, than a $250 4k monitor would be perfect

I see this comment all the time and it's just not true. Virtually all titles have 21:9 support. Not only that but if you watch movies on your PC, most movies are shot in 21:9 and displaying them on an ultrawide monitor will fill the entire screen negating any black bars you see on a traditional 16:9 screen/TV.
He's probably referring to most popular FPS games; most notably overwatch; it has "support", but it isn't real support. It's a cropped, zoomed in 16:9. You literally play at a disadvantage, as you can't see as much as someone on a smaller, 16:9 monitor. It's horrendous.

I've been using an ultrawide since 2015. Many games lack support. Most recently monster Hunter world which was hugely disappointing. Also Fallout 76, but that game has received so much hate that this comes as no surprise.
I love ultrawide, but you will find some games don't support it, and of the games that do support it, the menus and cut scenes will usually have black bars. I still think it's the sweet spot that makes the most sense between 1440p and 4k... With time the game support should get to 100%
