meh, Costco had a 2 pack of these for about $12-14 that included surge protection and 2 USB charge ports

Both of those outlets get their power from one power cable so that's why it doesn't matter. It's just a waste of material to add a second set of prongs.

Our building/fire inspectors do not allow these, claiming that they may cause fires. So if you are subject to inspections, you might want to hide such devices until the inspector leaves.

To get around that problem in our rentals, I've changed from two receptacle boxes to four or added more receptacles to a room (both of which require a permit and more inspections). The result is the same number of things plugged into a circuit so I'm not sure how it helps, but it passes the inspection ridiculousness.

I'd get one with surge protection instead. No point in 6 outlets if all that gear is unprotected.

I don't like how it only uses only one of the two original home outlets to supply power to the adapter.

Are they? Thought they were $19.99. YMMV maybe...

You're right and I should've known that after I recently replaced our garage GFCI outlet. Wave
