Definitely wouldn't trust the off-brand with my USB C electronics, especially with the reviews it has.

OP's Walmart deal is also shipped and sold by Walmart so it should definitely be the official Google one, not the many counterfeits floating around.

Cheapest I've seen it, especially after the FP Best Buy deal for $19.

If you were to use a USB-C to lightning cable, and pair it with a capable USB-PD charger, you would pull at max:

12W (5V/2.4A) - iPhone 6/6+/7/7+, iPad 9.7 (Air/Pro), iPad mini
18W (9V/2A or 14.5V/1.25A) - iPhone 8/8+X/XS/Max/XR
30W (15V/2A) - iPad Pro 10.5/11/12.9/Macbook (or 29W@14.5V/2A)
60W (20V/3A) - Macbook Pro 13
87W (20V/4.3A) - Macbook Pro 15

It's 9V/2A = 18W, or 5V/3A for 15W

Did a search to price compare, because this post seems like a good deal for OEM, and I happened across this off-brand for less.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new iPhones require 29W+ for fast-charging? Otherwise I'd be all over this.

I don't think any phone supports 29W.

Maybe that's just the rating of the power adapter that Apple makes for USB-C PD. It's meant for their laptops, I assume, but if you use a USB-C to Lightning cable you can use that power adapter (or their larger ones) to fast-charge the newer iPhones.

I guess I just need to figure out the minimum wattage for fast-charging and see if this will do it...I'll report back.

EDIT: looks like they do make an 18W adapter (maybe for iPads?) that should work. I think I'll pick up one or two of these. Now for a deal on those USB-C to Lightning cables...

You found an off-brand item for a lower price? That's earth shattering news
