maybe you can post a deal next time you see a good fare. i'm going by historical prices here and other sources. fwiw, secret flying and other other deals sites for travel all look at the same spreadsheet that i have so altho' they're a good place to look, i'd pay attention to all because sometimes we all post the same deals, sometimes we don't. i like to shake it up a bit and post cities that hardly gets posted. when our users deem a deal is fantastic, they'd vote on it. i don't control how users vote. slickdeals only frontpage deals that were vetted by the community based on ratings/votes.

im not being a bitch but if you find a better deal, post it. the community will appreciate your contribution(s)

I've been to pretty much all the Caribbean Islands (born in Trinidad) and Aruba is my favorite. So much to do! Plenty of hidden pools, off-roading, caves and the beaches are warm and absolutely stunning. For a real treat, stay at the of the Renaissance Resorts. They have a private island "Flamingo Island," where you gain free access to with a reservation. They shuttle you on a 10 minute boat ride to the most picturesque water possible. You get to bathe, feed and take pictures with the flamingoes all day. We went for our honeymoon and have been back 4 times since. Just came back from there in October. Never disappoints! Also, the people and food 👌🏽

Also, if you don't want to start in Atlanta, you can depart from Ft.Lauderdale (FLL) instead and get a straight flight to AUA for $187.

Aruba is absolutely beautiful! I've been twice. Never gets too hot as the island is small and has a constant breeze. FOR CIGAR SMOKERS: Aruba has some of the best cigars with CUBAN Tabacco. FOR THE BACHELORS: check out St. Nicholas and enjoy!

Aruba was nice. I'll never go back though, as there isn't anything unique to do.

They do avoid hurricanes so they've got that going for them.

I always call aruba "one boring island". It is nice since it is away from lots of bad weather, but it gets windy as hell. It is pretty boring because there is nothing exciting to do. It is pretty americanized with all the culture replaced with shopping.

Also, the beach has pretty calm water, so it sort of matches the ambience.

I been to Aruba. Its on a cruise ship and you can only do 8 hrs a day.

It is much cheaper than flying.

[I]this is a fantastic fare..
No, it is a good fare. Why it is on the front page of slickdeals is hard to understand, but slickdeals does like to put random airfares on its front page. Every day, there are hundreds of fares that, comparatively, are as good as this. Fares change all the time, and you can often pick up a great airfare if you pay attention to a site like secretflying. Right now, Jetblue has a 2-day sale with hundreds of fares to the Caribbean and non-Caribbean priced at this level. If you're thinking about a winter vacation, you should certainly take a look. But if you're looking for a truly "slickdeal" on an airfare, you should hold out for better.

FWIW, a "fantastic fare" in this market would be sub-$200. FWIW, I flew last month to the Caribbean from the East Coast for less than $150.

As I mentioned there are hundreds (thousands?) of similar airfare deals every day. Slickdeals is the wrong forum for them: there is simply not the level of sophistication and expertise on this site as there is on the aviation deal sites. Sites like theflightdeal and secretflying ARE the "slickdeals of airfare." If you look at one of these sites (there's at least 20 that I know of), you'll see what I'm talking about. Posting one of the countless airfare deals on slickdeals makes no sense.

Aruba isn't a place to party. It's a place to relax and to enjoy nice warm weather. I went there on end of August 2011 and do not recall being windy. It did rain but only at night time. One of my favorite place to relax. Also not crowded at all. I would love to go back for a vacation or even retire there.
